ICD-9-CM Coding in Long Term Care
 

This presentation will focus on the unique features of coding in the long term care industry.

Mary Ann Leonard, RHIA, RAC-CT

Ms. Leonard worked in the LTC industry for nearly 3 decades as a health information management consultant in over 100 facilities in central, northeastern and southeastern Pennsylvania, as well as Delaware and Maryland. A graduate of the Temple University HIM program, she has developed policies and procedures, conducted staff in-services and training of HIM staff, ICD-9-CM coding, documentation, care planning and other record related topics. She has also been active with various professional associations on the regional, state and national level. She is currently the Co-Chair of the AHIMA LTC Practice Council and is founding member and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators.
