Release of Information: Bringing It in House

This informational audio conference will review the challenges of having an outsourced release of information department, strategies to bring it in-house effectively utilizing technology and team building techniques.

Faith Zeigler, RHIA

Faith Zeigler, RHIA, is the Health Information Services Manager and Privacy Officer for Memorial Hospital in York, PA. In that capacity, she oversees all health information functions for the hospital, including chart preparation, analysis and chart completion; remote coding of emergency, outpatient and inpatient records; cancer registry; and onsite release of information. She also serves as the primary resource for HIPAA compliance issues and confidentiality questions, as well as organizational HIPAA training. As a member of numerous multi-disciplinary committees, she offers guidance in the efficient use of electronic documentation programs, provides oversight for information storage throughout the facility, maintains the various electronic systems and assists in developing and providing physician and staff training on documentation and documentation integrity. Ms. Zeigler is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania, a member of the Central Pennsylvania Privacy Officer Networking Group, PHIMA, and AHIMA, and has served in leadership roles within CPHIMA.
